Outside Artifact

The outside artifact that I am going to use is a picture from a class that I was entering in During the TEE program in high school. The program was for high school students that were interested in becoming teachers as their career. Every six weeks we would have the opportunity to go to different grade levels, so that way we knew what level we liked best. The picture that I have is with my preschool students and I. The group of students that I had was a blended group which consisted of regular ed students and students with special needs.

The standards that the students were learning during class was how to write their letters correctly and how to pronounce the letter sounds.

This experience has taught me a lot. I learned that it takes a lot of patience to be able to take care of students that have special needs. I also learned that it you have to repeat yourself many times for the students to be able to remember what they need to do. The mentoring teacher that I had was also very helpful and stopped and explained to me why a student is acting a certain way and why she had to do things a certain way. I had a blast getting to know the children in the class and I am so glad that I got be a part of their class.
